The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites applications and nominations for a faculty position in the water resources area, effective Fall 2013. The position is a tenure/tenure-track appointment with teaching, research, and service responsibilities, to be filled at a rank commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will have exceptional promise in both undergraduate and graduate teaching and research mentorship. A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering is required. Competitive candidates must have the ability to maintain a strong, extramurally funded, research program and demonstrated commitment to both undergraduate and graduate instruction. We seek a candidate with outstanding research and teaching focused on hydrologic modeling and related water resource areas. Successful candidates should possess a strong record of publication and extramural funding, a proven research funding record from local, state and/or federal research agencies, the ability to bring active research funding, the ability to teach hydrology, hydraulics and water resources, and a proven teaching record.

The Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering has eleven faculty members with specialties in construction, environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources engineering. The Department offers B.S. degrees in civil, environmental, and construction engineering, an M.S. degree, and a joint Ph.D. degree with the University of California at San Diego. Mulkey Engineers & Consultants is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer for our Cary, North Carolina office.

This position will provide engineering design, support and assistance of projects within the Raleigh Water Resources Group and will be responsible for the design and completion of assigned projects on time, within budget and of high quality. This individual will perform design of hydraulic projects on a daily basis as well as assist in field surveys for hydraulic projects. The ideal candidate must have a bachelors degree in civil engineering, minimum of 4 years of hydraulic engineering experience, a North Carolina PE or the ability to obtain within one year. Proficiency with NCDOT drainage practices and design, HEC-RAS, HY-22, HY-8 and MicroStation programs are required. Familiarity with GEOPAK Drainage, the design of storm water BMPs and a willingness to travel on occasion is also necessary.
